i’m think i’m a teleholic + wednesday wardrobe

I think I’m seriously addicted to TV.

I’d like to follow that statement with something like “…but at least it’s not a coke addiction, right? Har-har.” But I can’t. I’ve read the studies on how much fatter I’m getting with every minute I spend on the couch. And on top of how my desk job is already a guaranteed life-shortener, I should probably balance that out at home, right?

In theory, yes. But in practice? There are just so many good – and fantastically bad – TV shows on to miss. Case in point: Tonight’s line up. Which includes (I know you’re dying to know):

Franklin & Bash (recorded from last night)
So You Think You Can Dance (which I’d like to say inspires me to jump up and work out to get those dancer abs – but let’s be realistic. Wine and working out is a terrible combo.)
some Friends reruns and, of course,
an educational boost with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
And then probably some Big Bang Theory before bed.

I’d truly prefer to have some kind of worthwhile, intellectual hobby – a book club, perhaps, or maybe some kind of sports team. But those take effort. And then I’d miss out on all the shows I’m addicted to.

It’s a no-win situation.

In other news, this:

Wednesday Wardrobe

I haven’t decided if this will be a regular post or anything, but I really liked my outfit today and wanted to share. So…you’re welcome.

Shirt: Pitaya
Shorts: H&M
Wedges: Target

At 90+ degrees in downtown Indy (although I sometimes wish that translated to the inside of our office. Brr.), shorts and heels are my pick for summer attire. Just use common sense: If you could wear them in a Nair commercial, they’re not appropriate for the workplace.

(Shopping tip: If you have a derriere like mine, buy a pair that’s a smidgen longer than you normally would. Speaking from experience, clothes strangely seem to magically change their properties – i.e. shrink up – between the store’s dressing room and my mirror at home when I’m getting ready for work.)

What’s your favorite summer work attire? Or TV show I need to get addicted to?

  1. You aren’t the only one hopelessly addicted to television. I will watch hours on end until someone pulls me off the couch to do something more outdoorsy or more human-like. TV is my life. (And dry red wines.)

  2. I feel the same way. I’m hopelessly addicted to SVU marathons when they’re on [which I recently found out are EVERY weekend and Tuesday on USA, if you didn’t know]. I’m also a huge fan of Parks and Recreation, and Community. #scriptedtvrevival

I’m more of a white wine person, myself. Unless I’m eating red meat or various spicy foods.
