30-day hair challenge, part one.

I’ve been in a hair slump lately.

I think it stems from me switching to showering/washing my hair at night after I run instead of in the morning like I used to, and I’m not really one of those girls who can get great style out of day-old hair.

Enter the 30-day hair challenge.

If you’ve been following my Twitter/Facebook photos, I declared said challenge last week, and I’m pretty pumped about it. It takes a little bit of research to find new styles (and lots of patience in the mornings), but I’m looking forward to finding some new ‘dos to try.

So, dear followers, I’ll be posting updates every few days on my blog. If you just can’t wait for posts (hey, thanks.), check out my Facebook album or Twitter feed, and there they’ll be.

Note: This challenge excludes weekends. I mean, who showers on weekends?

Day one

Full fishtail.

Notes: Cute, but not practical. Half of it fell down before the afternoon was over.

Day two

Braided crown thing.

Notes: Held up well, but I wasn’t crazy about how it looked from the front.

Day three

Half fishtail.

Notes: My favorite to date, and quickly becoming my go-to style (you know, when I’m not doing a 30-day hair challenge). Held up perfectly, looked great from the front and garnered lots of compliments (thanks, guys.).

Day four

Braided top knot.

Notes: The easiest to execute so far. High pony, two braids, twist into bun.

Day four-point-five

Workout hair: Braided pony.

Notes: Okay, I guess this is really the easiest to execute so far, but the one I like the least. Went for a run with this hair; was annoyed the braid kept slapping me on the back of the neck. Fail.

  1. Such a great idea! If only my hair was more manageable lol. Could you post the tutorials you’re using for each?

  2. This is one of my favorites. a) I’m green-eyed 🙂 over the fact that you can do more than just blow dry and use a straightener (like myself) and b) the commentary on what the hairstyle did or did not do for you that day…ahh-some. My 30 day hair challenge would require me to brush it, that’s a challenge on most mornings. Keep it up. Good stuff.
