If you’re just joining us me, I recently started the Advocare 24-day challenge. (Catch up here.) Here’s how days two and three went.
Day 2
If you’ll remember, I slept like complete dog shit the night of Day 1 / morning of Day 2, so I was really hoping the day wouldn’t suck.
I wasn’t so lucky.
Day 2 started off fine – breakfast, spark, worstthingintheworld fiber drink. Because I couldn’t finish my workout in the evening on Day 1, I decided to try working out before lunch so I had more food in my system, but it didn’t really help. I had to take so many breaks, I was so drained and feeling light-headed.
Then a migraine set in.
Then nausea set in.
I went to bed at 7:30 or 8, I think. No energy, head pounding, wanted to throw up. Not how I imagined this thing going.
Day 3
I slept much better between days two and three than between one and two, so that was encouraging. I had the beginnings of a headache when I woke up on Day 3, but it mostly went away with water. After again choking down the fiber drink (no more until day 8 now!), I tentatively faced the day, trying to avoid nausea or headaches.
By mid-morning snack and lunch, I was feeling nauseous again, which I wasn’t thrilled about. After a somewhat panicked text to my consultant/goddess and then a three-way call with her consultant, I was feeling calmer – evidently it’s not unusual to feel a little strange during the first few days when all the toxins are getting out of your body. (Guess I’m super toxic?)
Once I heard it was okay to feel like crap, I mustered up the energy to do some workouts – p90x ab ripper and the shoulders and arms workout. And afterward, I actually felt pretty good. Boyfriend and I had a delicious dinner, and I wasn’t even hungry for much more of a snack than a mandarin orange after supper.
This is technically Day 4 now, but I just want to say, I woke up feeling GREAT. I’m hoping the feeling lasts the rest of the day, but I woke up a little before 8, not at all groggy. So there’s that.
Onward and upward!
